Jilberto Núñez Cruz is part of a new generation of master weavers carrying forward the rich textile traditions of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas. Through Komen Arte Textil, he leads a collaborative workshop where ancestral backstrap and pedal loom techniques are transformed into contemporary textiles that remain deeply rooted in Maya heritage. His work reflects a careful balance between innovation and tradition, creating pieces that honor generations of knowledge while speaking to today's collectors.
