From the desert landscapes of Zacatecas, Alejandro Flores Rodríguez brings lechuguilla ixtle to life through extraordinary fiber sculptures. Trained by his father and guided by generations of traditional knowledge, he weaves, dyes, and models plant fibers into forms that speak of nature, ritual, and identity. 

Using pigments extracted from cactus, beans, flowers, and trees, Alejandro creates works that carry the colors of his land. His innovative technique of ixtle modeling allows him to shape fiber as if it were clay, producing figures inspired by the flora, fauna, and ceremonial dances of his region. 

Each piece is a meeting point between tradition and imagination—a testament to the enduring power of Mexican fiber arts.
