Through KIP TIK, Margarita López Hernández demonstrates how traditional weaving can remain deeply rooted while responding to contemporary life. Working with the ancestral backstrap loom, she creates textiles that preserve the knowledge of Tsotsil weaving while participating in a collaborative project that connects Indigenous artisans with new audiences. Her work reflects the belief that innovation and tradition are not opposites, but partners in keeping cultural heritage vibrant and relevant.
