For more than a generation, Pascuala Vázquez Hernández has been a leader among the women weavers of Zinacantán, Chiapas. Taught by her mother and sister on the ancestral backstrap loom, she preserves one of the region's most celebrated textile  traditions while guiding a cooperative of women dedicated to sustaining their families through weaving. Her richly embroidered garments reflect the vibrant identity of the Tsotsil people and demonstrate how tradition continues to flourish through collective knowledge, craftsmanship, and cultural pride.
