The collective Custodios de la Filigrana, of which Margarita Salgado Reyes is a member, brings together more than thirty master jewelers from different regions of Mexico who share a commitment to preserving the ancestral technique of filigree. This delicate technique—considered one of the most complex in traditional jewelry-making —involves shaping extremely fine metal threads that are carefully intertwined to create intricate ornamental designs. 

Through their collective work, the group seeks to strengthen the recognition and appreciation of this craft by creating opportunities for artisans to present their work directly to the public. In addition to producing jewelry of exceptional technical and artistic quality, the collective participates in exhibitions, gatherings, and educational activities where they share the history and processes of Mexican filigree, reaffirming their commitment to preserving this cultural heritage.
