Ubaldo Macías Bernabe, Tonalá, Jalisco

Ubaldo Macías Bernabe started in the world of folk art when he was little. He
remembers seeing his parents working with clay, making pots, and other things, his house has always been a workshop. He started playing with the materials and now it has become an important part of his life because, besides being the livelihood of his family, it is what he likes to do, it is his passion and he can spend all time making clay works and decorating with the brush, paint and his imagination. The creation of art has been passed down in his family for four generations, he is the third generation and his children are the fourth generation.

It is an activity typical of his community since the petatillo clay and tastoan masks are traditional elements of Tonalá.
