María (Loin) López López has a degree in Economics and is originally from San Juan Chamula, Chiapas. 

Since she was very young, she learned to weave on a backstrap loom and embroider on wool. Her knowledge was inherited from her grandmother and mother. 

Currently, she continues to work with wool. She uses color combinations following the new trends combined with ancestral knowledge. 

María is part of a group of 18 women from the community of Tilil in Chamula. Because of her education, she does their advertising and publicizes the work they do. She is constantly looking for new markets where their work can be sold. Her career and knowledge of weaving have helped her to create new products, and also to spread the word about them.
