Sometimes artistic traditions are inherited not only by birth, but through shared life and family. More than four decades ago, Roberto Domingo Mejía Muñoz joined the artisanal tradition of his wife’s family, gradually making it the center of both his creative life and his family’s livelihood. 

Through the technique of popotillo, which uses natural fibers to form richly textured decorative compositions, his family creates distinctive pieces shaped by patience, precision, and imagination. Today, working alongside his children and grandchildren, they continue to sustain a family tradition that now spans four generations.
