Originally from San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca, Omar Fabián Canseco and Adelaida Fabián Canseco come from a family of potters dedicated for generations to the tradition of black clay. They are the children of artisans Miguel Fabián Pedro and Esther Canseco Morga, from whom they learned the craft in the family workshop, becoming representatives of the fourth generation of this artistic lineage.

Inspired by the ancient Mixtec and Zapotec cultures, their pieces incorporate forms and symbols that evoke the region’s pre-Hispanic heritage. Through their work they continue to develop the artistic language of black clay, combining the knowledge inherited from their family with their own creative vision within one of Oaxaca’s most emblematic ceramic traditions.
