Juana Maria Arias Pérez, Tsobol Antsetik, Chenalho, Chiapas
For the women of Tsobol Antsetik—"Women United"—textiles are a living expression of community, identity, and continuity. Represented by Juana María Arias Pérez, this collective of Tsotsil weavers from Chenalhó has spent more than twenty-five years preserving the intricate traditions of backstrap loom weaving and embroidery while passing their knowledge from mothers to daughters and granddaughters. Every woven thread and embroidered motif reflects a shared commitment to culture, cooperation, and the enduring strength of women working together.
