Originally from Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero, Juan Carlos Benítez Juárez is part of the renowned silversmithing tradition of this historic city. From an early age he trained in local workshops, developing a deep knowledge of traditional Mexican silver techniques, particularly filigree. Inspired by artisans from several regions of Mexico, his work combines technical mastery of precious metals and gemstone setting with innovative design solutions, including complex mechanisms and modular structures.   

He has taught various courses on filigree techniques at jewelry schools such as Plata Laguna del Tec de Monterrey in Torreón Coahuila, Tec de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara, Tec de Monterrey Campus Toluca, 925 Plata Studio CDMX, Diploma in Popular Art at the Morelense Museum of Popular Art, Diploma in Mexican Filigree at the San Agustín Arts Center in Oaxaca 2022, 2023, 2024, Cervantino International Festival 2019, Seminar for Artists, Designers, and Artisans in Taxco, Faculty of Arts and Design, UNAM Taxco, among others.
