Andrés Vidales Sánchez is a stone artisan specializing in volcanic stone carving, a craft he learned at an early age as part of a family tradition. As a third-generation artisan, his work focuses on creating molcajetes and metates—essential tools in traditional Mexican cooking. 

Through his practice, Andrés not only preserves techniques passed down from his father and grandfather, but also shares this knowledge with the next generation. His work reflects the continuity of a living tradition deeply rooted in both his community and his family’s cultural identity.
