Aureliano Lorenzo, Mexico, Mexico

Aureliano Lorenzo makes painted altarpieces in wood, based on the cultures and traditions of Guerrero. He was born in Xalitla, Guerrero, although he has lived in the State of Mexico for 8 years.

The Lorenzo family has been dedicated to painting for 52 years. The tradition began with his father, Lucas Lorenzo, and has continued for three generations (his brothers and sons). His art is based on the cultures and traditions of Guerrero, such as the dances and paintings of his people.

His aim is to continue the family tradition, and to make it known to the world. With the proceeds they support their family, their traditions, their churches and their community. There are currently 7 artists, each with their own style.
